Sanding and finishing your wooden floor

Blog Entry: 4 March, 2020

When You decide its the Right Time to have your wooden floor sanded and sealed and Brought Back To Life I find its best to Stop, Look and Listen.

Stop and think what do I want?
Look at examples of work done on the internet and see if you can find a result you would like.

It is best to find out the type of wood you have first before searching, then you can be sure the desired result can be achieved. The majority of floors can be brought back to life, so even if you floor has not been used for decades because it has been hidden under carpet or belongs to a disused part of the building/house the probability of bringing it back to life is high.

When choosing a company to sand you floor always Look at previous work, a company with a good portfolio will likely mean they know what they are doing.

And Finally Listen to others by asking for recommendations, also listen to the sander himself/herself and check they know their products and what other products are on the market and the pro's and con's of both.

Ben Raphael

Hi, my name is Ben and I have been sanding floors since 1998. I have sanded all types of floors from engineered pine to floorboards which are in excess of 300 years old. My work takes me all over the UK and France so I have experienced a lot of different types of floors and finishes. Floors can nearly always be brought back to life, so even if you think you floor is beyond help or repair get in touch with pictures of your floor via the online quote service and see what the options are for your floor.
